This past week we were so lucky to go to movie screening of a film festival in downtown Amman. It was at the Royal Film Commission on Rainbow Street in an outdoor theater overlooking Amman, it was absolutely beautiful. After having a great dinner we headed to theater to see the movie In the Sands of Babylon. Easily, this is one of the best movies I have ever seen. It is sort of like a different version of Schindler's List..., gruesome, incredibly sad, but true... definitely worth seeing. It was very cool because the director was there! It is a shame that it wasn't screened in America because the way the story was told and the actual content of the film was truly impressive. It made me feel pain in no other way a movie has made me feel. It also opened my eyes to truly how little I know about the history of the Middle East, and especially how one sided and black and white most of my education has been. I truly encourage those who would like to see this film to see it, it will change how you view much of the knowledge you think you know. Here is the overview and the trailer:
